Course Overview:

Description: 

STEM Innovation - Students will explore science, technology, engineering and math all in one curriculum. This course offers an innovative approach to learning in which students use problem solving skills to tackle hands-on learning activities. Skills in this course will improve critical thinking skills and will propel students toward a successful career in the STEM fields.  We will work on many projects across curriculums which will include; building dual stage rockets, card board boat challenge, Physics Pro Kits, and the study of the common plants and animals of the southwest.  We will work with environmentalists from Freeport as well as Biozone to study Bridle Creek ecology.  Native American and pioneer history will also be covered including desert survival techniques.

 

Aviation - Students will learn the basics of aviation and fly airplanes for the completion of the Young Eagles Program.  Retired pilots take students up for a one on one flying experience from the Bagdad Airport and get the amazing experience of taking the yoke and controls during the flight.  Students will have access to a ton of resources if they want to become a pilot!
